Rest in peace, Park Yong Ha.

30 Jun

I am having the shock of my life right now. When I saw a post in allkpop that said Actor Park Yong Ha Commit Suicide, I was like ‘bleh, allkpop really loves to shock people when it’s all but a gimmick.’

Noncommittally I just click on the post and my eyeballs nearly popped out from their respective socket. The first question that comes to my mind was WHY? FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, WHY?

I still remember him in Winter Sonata. The drama was the first drama of his that I watched, and instead of rooting for Bae Yong Joon’s character, I was rooting for him. Then came more dramas featuring him. I watched. I laughed, I smiled, I cried with his characters.

And I also remember how much I love his voice. I still remember wondering whose voice was it that tugged my heart every time I was watching All In. When I discovered it was him, I was pleasantly surprised. Happier when I heard his voice once again in Full House. And of course, in On Air.

But now, neither can I see him in a new project with Yoon Eun Hye nor can I heard him singing with that somewhat soothing husky voice.

I am asking over and over again why is he doing this… but I know the answer will remain with him forever. He was taking it all with him to his grave. Reading a report at dramabeans, I felt sorry for his family and close friends. Especially those he talked to just before the incident happen. Park Si Yeon, please be strong!

I think this post by Elizabeth Tai rang a bell. It’s sad that some people, celebrities or common folks suffered from depression and nobody around  had realised what was happening to them.

Suddenly I was reminded of late Lee Eon. It was extremely sad the fact that an accident took his life, but it would had been even more devastating if he commit suicide. Just like Choi Jin-shil, Choi Jin-young, Ahn Jae-hwan, Jang Ja-yeon and Kim Ji-hoo, to name a few.

Joining the list now was Park Yong-ha, and even though this is very heartbreaking… I felt regretful just thinking about him.

Rest in peace.

Controversies at Dream Concert – JYPE, 2PM and Jay Park

23 May

I thought the day I will talk about the departure of Jay Park from 2PM and the controversies surrounding the incident is far away. But alas, the day had come. A little bit unexpected, but I think I should have my say now. [Even if nobody is reading this. I just need a channel to rant. Excusez-moi.]

Okay. First thing first. I am a 2PM fan. A JYPE supporter. I supported every single artist under the label. From the former to the latter. You name it, god, Bi, Byul, Wonder Girls, 2AM, 2PM, JOO, Min, G-Soul, Im Jeong Hee, and several others and even the CEO himself, JYP. I might be biased writing this, but I’m being as natural as I can be.

Firstly, I’m not going around blaming Jay Park  for what had been happening to 2PM lately, but seriously, to those narrow-minded fans in Korea [oh, you know who you are], just leave that boy alone already!

Why are you chanting his name, for the love of GOD? Do you lot really need to do this?

  1. IF you are not pleased by 2PM’s behaviour and attitude at that bloody conference…
  2. IF you are not pleased by the rumour that JYPE bought $50,000 or more of 2PM CD’s so that they could win on Music Shows…
  3. IF you are not pleased that Music Bank and Inkigayo changed their point system to determine the winner…
  4. IF you think that they stole some other singer/band awards on music shows…
  5. IF you think they did not have any right to perform anymore…

then, WHY, do you have to use Jay Park’s name in order to HURT the boys? The boy had been bravely accepting the damages he had done in the past, had tried to get on his feet again and were trying his best to move on with his life. Do you think he would love to see on the internet, people shouting his name to hurt those he once held dear in his heart?

Secondly, if you are expecting some kind of apology from 2PM because of their behaviour at the conference, then bash them. Don’t bash anyone else. When they got on any stage, just stay put and quiet. Silence is the new loud, you know? And as much as I wanted to say this, I think it’s useless for me to tell to them to put yourself in their shoes. It is useless, and will be forever useless to say this because these people care more about themselves. Demand an apology? HAH! Why do you even need an apology? Did they fucked up your life? No. Of course not.

Do you think the boys were not upset at all during the conference? Do you think nobody told them to watch out whatever they were going to say? Do you think the boys were not tired because of what had happened? Do you think the boys were happy for the fact that they were left with 6 members because Jay Park decided to quit?

Why do you think Jay Park quit in the first place? Why do you think the boys had to let him go?

For all of these questions, we DO NOT know the definite answers. Only God and them knew. When we didn’t know anything, the turmoil in their hearts, how can we judge them? How can we, a mere third-party on the sideline, decide that they were right or wrong? We are not GOD. We don’t have the right.

Thirdly, if it’s true that JYPE bought those CD, so what? Did he bought the CDs using your money? He used his own money, I bet. And yes, I know that’s morally wrong. But I am someone who believes in karma. If he did wrong, it won’t be long when he got his punishment. Oh, if you said this incident is the punishment for JYP for hoarding the CDs, then JYP really has luck by his side. He had been doing things that was worse, and the punishment was just a… very small price to pay?

But why would a smart CEO waste his time and money hoarding CDs in order to let the boys win on music shows? A theoretical question though, what if the rumour was spread by JYPE themselves? Bad publicity is still a publicity. [Sarcasm intended]

Fourthly, if you are not pleased Music Bank and Inkigayo changed their format, go in front of their building and stage a strike or a protest. Didn’t you all have lots of time to spare in your hands? Besides, MBC or SBS had the reputation to listen to their audience’s voice more than they did listen to the artists or company labels. They’ll sure convert the system back to the one they used the last time.

Fifthly, stealing is bad. But what to do? The MCs presented them the awards. Should they step aside and say ‘We can’t accept the awards because we stole it’ ? Oh, come on! That’s the way of life. Other people’s loss is somebody else’s gain. Geez, grow up already [even though I know these people won’t]. We did not live in world that is black and white. Everything is grey.

Next, if they don’t have the right to perform, then why on Earth there were people who turned up for their Guerilla Concert? The one where Taec shed his manly tears for the first time on stage. There were still people or fans who still like [if not LOVE] them, and as far as I am concerned, fans kept a band alive. Zero fans, and you are out of the industry. Like Nichkhun said,

We’re living coz we have you.

I felt sorry for both 2PM members and Jay Park for the ugly turns in their respective lives. But they were trying to move on.

Why can’t we?

2PM is Without You? ^^

22 May

The 6 men don’t have to do anything more to make me love them. They worked hard and they played hard, what more can a fan ask from them?

With the release of their Don’t Stop Can’t Stop album, it marked the 2nd project they had successfully completed without Jay Park as a member of the team. And I think even they would agree that even if Jay wasn’t there physically, he is still there in their hearts. I do have a lot of comments regarding Jay leaving, but since in this post, I wasn’t supposed to rant about that particular incident, let’s put the matter behind for the time being, shall we?

Without You is no doubt one of the greatest productions of JYP (I salute you, man! You are amazing!). Although the sound of rain reminded me of Rain, but the piano melody really tugged your heart if you listen to it carefully throughout the song. The opening rap by Taec set the ‘hurting’ mood, but toned down by the music later on in a very nice way. Chansung did a good job in this song, way better than the way he sang in their previous songs before. Junsu and Junho excell in the chorus part with brilliant ad-lips here and there, Khun’s rap was GOOD! I always thought his gentle and soft voice wouldn’t suit powerful and angsty rap, boy, how I was wrong! Wooyoung’s part was kind of highlight of the song, and did he deliver!

And I know there are a lot of people complained about the choreography, but for me it’s perfect! Do you expect them to have a really powerful choroe like Heartbeat when the tone is definitely smoother and calmer compared to their previous title hit? No, I don’t think so. Maybe there were some points that can be done better, for me the dance worked.

Just look at this one!

[by the way, Junsu, get well soon!]

Now, you still think the choreo lacked? Please!

How could I miss this! Wonder Girls is BACCKKKK~~~!!!!

21 May

Well. Two posts in a row. [Not bad for a comeback right?]

Oh well. Pity Bi (or Rain for whoever like the name better), since his comeback with Love Song, I didn’t even update my blog. But now, when the Wonder Girls comes back, [whammm!] I’m here. XD Not that I hate you now Bi [I love you until my hair turned grey, promise!]

Back to Wonder Girls… the song is addictive! The first time I heard it, I was just like, blehhh. Then the second time around, I thought  JYP really does have talents with sick beats. Third time listening to it, I’m humming two two…

And when the MV came out, I am completely in LOVE! Give me two different tears… after all these years…

2PM Explosive Comeback…

24 Apr

It’s their time to shine! IT’s 2 PM!

*major nosebleed*

Did they do well? You decide.

Again and Again… 2:00PM, Time For Change

16 Apr

Ah, I had lost my heart again. Care to hand it back, Lee Jun Ho?

The MV is a nice change… since they did look manlier, compared to their last venture, 10 out of 10. Chan Sung finally look decent with short hair, Junsu looked considerably better with half-swept hair (rather than the bowl cut he sported during Only You activities), whilst the other look just like usual.

Even so! Nichkhun’s hairstyle is really not that good, and I disliked how some of them wore ‘half-completed’ pants (what’s wrong with ankle length pants anyway?)

One thing that I noticed, with Jun Ho looking every bit like Bi (except without those highlights), it reminds me of Bi’s In My Bed… so I don’t know.*sigh*

Anyway~ the boys looked mighty fine, and the song is SUPER nice, so I think I can overlook the flaws. 😛 Anyone interested, here’s Bi – In My Bed.

2PM Sizzling Again and Again!

15 Apr

I shouldn’t be doing this. I know. But this is how this thing work. People come, listen, repeated the song in their playlist. And then thought, ‘I should buy this’.

So, with the first listen, I think I’m going to buy the single. For sure.  Support 2PM guys!

Here’s the teaser.

I SAID, WHAT TIME IS IT NOW? IT’s 2PM!
